Cigarro del dia - numero siete

Post by f.sinagra » Thu Jun 21, 2018 10:48 am

What I’ve been smoking these past few weeks:

ImagePossibly my favorite Warped, La Hacienda.
ImageAnd my favorite Padilla (though the 1932 that Craig gifted me awhile back in a trade is probably the best Padilla I’ve ever smoked).
ImageCromag Anthro. Can’t say enough about Skip and his cigars.ImageMr. Sam corona. Nice little cigar, but I feel like the blend is better suited in a robusto size. Sneaky little bugger with a nice kick. ImageThe last three Laranja’s I’ve smoked have been flat — no pronounced flavors, no subtle flavors — JUST BORING.ImageNot a big ring gauge smoker, but this Ghost was fantastic — dark fruit flavors and rich earth and coffee notes.ImageLas Calaveras 2016 — nothing else to say. Love the hell out of the Crowned Heads “limited” release. ImageCaminos TMM robusto — rich and hearty cigar. Heavy wood and earth, hints of floral, bakers spice. GREAT! ImageLa Palina Classic, Maduro — nothing special, solid cigar. ImageAnother Caminos. Constant rotation — can’t say enough of this cigar. ImageThe best Oliva on the market — Melanio Petit w/ the 200th anniversary Guinness. Quite a pairing! ImageCosecha 2006 by La Aurora. Picked up a box after Coop had it ranked at #2. His assessment was spot on! ImageLas Calaveras 2017. Not as great as the 2016, but good enough. Happy to be sitting on a couple more of these. ImageTried to have another one after experiencing a couple of flat ones — STILL FLAT. ImageAnother Anthro — BANGING CIGAR!!!! ImageCLE Conn 6x46 — killer with an espresso in the morning!

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

Warped Maestro Tiempo — classic, medium-bodied goodness!

Better than I remember the first one being. Actually, a better-than-expected smoke. I won't be beating down tobacconists' doors for them, but will probably buy again at some point. Image

Hoja del Sol. Something new to try. Let's see how it goes. Image

This fell pretty flat for me. Vague flavors, and a weird progression from a good draw to almost unsmokeable by the midpoint.

Long drives to and from South Bend, IN for a LONG wedding reception gig. This started my drive home and then finished with a Casa de William (Kip’s friend in the DR). Foundry As Time Flies.

The other cigar pics from the trip. Really like the Flor de las Antillas. So much so that it got 2 pics :D

I first had one of these when Kip and I toured the La Palma factory in 2017. The one we had was a toro and was... okay. This corona-ish sized version, though, is simply outstanding. Gentle with a subtle sweetness and a slight hit on the retrohale. A definite winner!
